Children's School Holiday Classes

Just to let you know a little about my children's classes

Please note: I can supplement all of the following for boy colours if anybody is interested in booking their boys in. Preferable ages for the classes 7rys & up.

We have a lifestyle property out at Puketaha Rd not far from the corner of Gordonton Rd so we are very close to Rototuna. The children do not need to bring anything to the classes apart from the required photo depending on the project. You just need to drop your child off and pick up later, no need to stay. The children love the classes and enjoy being creative and meeting other kids. I have been teaching children's classes in Auckland where we also hold children's birthday parties in our Auckland store. I have a lot of patience and I love helping kids get creative.

I can only take cash, cheque or credit card, sorry eftpos not available yet.

Best Friends - Single Layout - $25.00

Tuesday 6th July - 10.30am - 12.30pm

Come along and create a colourful layout using a photo of you and your friend, you may even decide that one of your pets is your best friend! We'll be using gorgeous papers from My Mind's Eye, cut out butterflies on the cricut machine, buttons & bling!

What to bring: no need to bring any tools or adhesives these will all be supplied BUT you do need to bring one 4" x 6" photo in a landscape orientation, black & white or colour.

Accordian Album - $25.00

Thursday 8th July - 10.30am - 12.30pm

You'll just love learning how to make up these little accordian albums which can hold a minimum of 4 photos, embellishments, journaling & more! Once you know how to whip these up you'll be making them for your friends birthday's and grandparents for Christmas! You'll be amazed how this compact little album opens out to display your photos!

What to bring: no need to bring any tools or adhesives but you can bring along 4 photos that are 4" x 6" that can be cropped down to a 4" square. If you don't have photos that fine they can always be added later at home.

Sweetie Pie - Single Layout - $25.00

Tuesday 13th July - 10.30am - 12.30pm

You'll love creating this fun layout with gorgeous pretty colours. We'll be using more papers from My Mind's Eye and pre-printed titles. You will have the option to choose from 'Sweetie Pie' or 'Best Friends' so bring along the appropriate photo. You may also like to bring a photo of your pet, best friend, little sister etc

What to bring: you do not need to bring any tools or adhesives these will be supplied BUT you do need to bring along one 5" x 7" portrait orientation photo. If you only have a 4" x 6" size that will be fine too. Colour or black & white.

Li'l Box of Cards - $25.00

Thursday 15th July - 10.30am - 12.30pm

Do you rush off to a friends birthday party and realise you haven't brought a card? Well this little box of cards is the answer! You'll create a set of six cards you can give for any occasion and store them in a cute little box you will learn to cover and decorate yourself. We will be using a new range of papers called 'Petal Pushers' from Bo Bunny and you'll have that card ready for that next birthday!

What to bring: you do not need to bring any tools or adhesives these will all be supplied, just come along and have some fun!

THURSDAY 29th JULY - 7pm - 9pm - Enjoy the Moment Single Layout

'Enjoy the Moment' - Single Layout

Thursday 29th July - 7pm - 9pm - $35.00

Come along and create this 'fresh' looking layout suitable for any occasion or any beach, summer photos would suit.

In this class we will use 2 photos @ 4" x 6" in size or you could even supplement for two landscape orientation or one 5" x 7" landscape photo.

Techniques used during this class include paper distressing, stamping on transparency and getting creative with Hambly overlays.

You will also have the option to choose your own title or copy the sample. We will be using lovely summery papers and diecuts by Heidi Swapp with a little bit of inking a adding a splash of colour with Prima flower vines.

What to bring: Basic kit, edge distresser if you have one, paper trimmer, adhesives

GRUNGE IT UP! - CARD CLASS

Thursday 15th July - 7-10.00pm - $40.00

You won't want to miss this popular class that I taught at Senz last year and several times at our Auckland Store. Using awesome creative products from Tim Holtz & Heidi Swapp you will learn how to get the most out of your distress inks, masks, grunge paper and stamps. This is a great class loaded with techniques you will be dying to get home to try more!

In this class you will get the use of loads of products including Heidi Swapp Invisible Chipboard, Tim Holtz Grunge Paper, Glimmer Mists, Tim Holtz Metal Ornaments, Heidi Swapp Masks (you will get to keep a whole pack of her Circle Masks) plus a

great range of fantastic stamps to play with. You will complete 3 cards to take home.

What to bring: Basic Kit including paper trimmer, glue, scissors, paper piercer.

SCRAPTECH 6 WEEK COURSE - COMMENCING

Come along and complete a 6 week course which will cover beginner to intermediate level scrapbooking packed with loads of techniques to start you off in your new and exciting hobby!

Each week you will bring along some photos to complete a single or double layout using different techniques each week. You will be given papers and embellishments to complete your page along with the use of the cuttlebug and cricut machine for lettering, embellishing etc

You will be shown examples and ideas and will follow instruction for a page each night but can also be creative and add your own finishing touches.

Here are some examples of the type of page you will be able to complete throughout the course:

What to bring: If you have a pair of scissors, pencil, ruler etc bring these or a paper trimmer. If not we can share during the class. Adhesives will be supplied.

WEBSTER'S BOX TOP LAYOUT - SINGLE LAYOUT WITH MULTIPLE PHOTOS

Thursday 8th July - 7-10pm - $35.00

You'll just love this fantastic style of a page inspired by Carol Wingert from USA. Carol designed this page so it has the effect of opening out like a box but uniquely still sits flat to slip in to your album. This can hold multiple photos or loads of journaling or embellishments. I taught this page in Auckland using an older range of Webster's and it was very popular.

I have put together this box top layout with a twist of my own using gorgeous new patterned papers from Webster's Pages from the 'Garden Gala' collection. We will fill this cleverly secretly hinged scrapbook page with hand cut journaling spots and a collection of quote stamps. We are using a variety of different quote stamps throughout the page, the theme is very versatile so should fit with any photos you want.

What to bring: Basic Kit including Trimmer, scissors, adhesives, pop dots, brown ink (photos are not essential as they can be added later and we probably won't have time during the class)

BIND IT! BIRTHDAY MINI ALBUM - 6" X 6" USING BIND-IT-ALL MACHINE

Thursday 24th June - 7-10pm - $35.00

Do you have plenty of photos lying around from yearly birthdays? Have you ever wandered how to use the Bind-it-all machine? Perhaps you own one and have never used it!

Whatever the reason come along to this fun class to put together a colourful little 6" x 6" mini album using chipboard with an acetate page in the centre. You will receive a whole pack of Daisy D's birthday rub-ons to customise your pages how you want. Also use some Autumn Leaves clear stamps to add some embellishments.

What to bring: Basic Kit including paper trimmer, glue, scissors, several photos to crop down. I have used black & white photos as the papers are colourful. Please note that photos can be added afterwards and not essential on the night.

Thursday 10th June - 7-9.30pm - $35.00

Come along and create a beautiful page using new papers from GCD Studios. You will be given an exclusive pre-cut frame to show off your photo, some fantastic patterned chipboard lettering (you'll get given a whole pack), gorgeous patterned papers & bling! Techniques used in this class include distressing, sewing and stamping.

What to bring: Basic Kit including paper trimmer, glue, scissors, tweezers, edge distresser if you have one but not essential. Also please bring one 4" x 6" portrait orientation photo that will fit into an oval (no small than 13.5cm x 9cm approx once cut down)

Hello everyone!

I have been away for the weekend down to Taupo to the Autumn Escape Convention. I feel refreshed, inspired and motivated!

I have two class samples that I will be posting sneak peeks very soon. One is using some gorgeous new papers from GCD Studios and the other from some fabulous new Webster's Pages. They are both single layouts but one is very special and put together in a way where you can display a few photos and journaling without the bulk.

The first LO from GCD Studios us using a mix of papers from the Homespun Chic Collection and the Artsy Urban Collection. Here are the papers I selected:

The next LO is made up from the gorgeous range of Webster's Pages using the Garden Gala range. Here are the papers from the collection from which some will be used on the Box Top Layout!

An exciting new blog!

Hello everybody and welcome to our new Scrapbook Studio blog. This is a place where we will feature classes and crops held in Hamilton. As some of you may know, my family and I have relocated in Hamilton. We have brought a lifestyle property on the outskirts of Hamilton near Huntington/Rototuna area very close to all amenities.

Having this property has given us the space we needed for our large family, my craft needs and also to hold classes. So you the customer will benefit not only Aucklanders who can still shop at Scrapbook Studio and attend classes but also Hamilton customers who can attend my classes for Adults and Children plus a small range of products will be available. Any other products can still be ordered as I head to Auckland a couple of times a week and can collect anything for you.

The classes I will be holding are going to range from beginners scrapbooking to intermediate, other 'one off' Adult technique classes plus children's classes over the holidays. I will also hold regular card classes plus I am also going to hold basic patchwork beginners classes and other small sewing projects from time to time.

Our store not only stocks the latest products in Scrapbooking, Pergamano & Rubberstamping but we also stock a large range of beautiful designer fabrics for patchwork & sewing. Most of the fabrics are designs you may not see in other local patchwork stores in Hamilton as a lot of our range is specialized for the younger more modern sewer.

This is going to be the place where you will check regularly for any upcoming classes held here in Hamilton. We are set in a private peaceful setting in Puketaha Rd. During classes you will have access to Cricut machines, Cuttlebug machines, Sewing machines plus loads of accessories if needed. Once set up I aim to hold monthly crops, depending on popularity we may hold them in a different Hamilton location, more information will follow.

This is an exciting venture and I hope you will enjoy participating in the classes I will have on offer over the next year!
